Infrared Radiation
Where a patient suffers from complaints such as severe muscular tension in the back or neck region, infrared radiation can provide relief. A rack of infrared lamps emits gentle and steady heat. Most of these infrared rays are invisible to the human eye, but a small part of the spectrum is in fact visible. These visible rays penetrate the skin to a depth of about 0.5 cm. The result is a warming of the irradiated areas and a positive influence on the underlying tissues.
